School Admissions - Online Applications
The School Admissions Team allocate all school Reception class places - for further details on the admissions process including admission criteria, catchment areas, appeals etc please follow this link to Staffordshire County Council website. School Admissions do not issue application forms as the Service is keen to provide a paperless system in all its admissions processes wherever possible. The website also gives details if you wish to apply for a mid-year transfer but we would request that you contact the school first.
The Reception September 2020 admissions opened on Friday 1st November 2019 and closed on Wednesday 15th January 2020. Staffordshire County Council will offer places on 16th April 2020.
The Nursery (September 2020) admissions process opened on 6th January 2020 and will close on 20th April 2020. Places will be offered on Friday 23rd April 2020.
Applications for admission into the Nursery should be made directly with Oakridge Primary School who will be administering the Nursery application process. Places are offered by ourselves and will follow our admissions policy.

Visits to School
Prospective parents are welcome to visit school prior to their child starting school. Please see below for dates and times of the Open Mornings. Please note that an evening induction meeting for parents takes place in the summer term prior to your child starting school. The meeting gives you the opportunity to ask any questions or highlight any concerns that you may have. Children joining our Nursery and Reception classes will also be invited to attend morning Induction sessions at the end of the summer term prior to them starting in the September.
We hold Open Morning for prospective parents of Nursery and Reception children; this is a chance to meet the Headteacher and have a tour of the school with a chance to ask any questions along with meeting the class teachers and the Little Oaks staff who run the Wrap–around–care provision.
- Tuesday 4th February 2020
- Thursday 12th March 2020
Sessions will start at 10.30am prompt and last for around an hour. If you wish to attend could you please contact the school (01785 337300) to reserve a place.
Additional dates will be offered for prospective Nursery parents in the new year, once the application process has opened, although parents are more than welcome to attend on the above date.
Children are admitted to Nursery in the September of the year they reach four; children who were born between 01.09.16-31.08.17 for admission in September 2020.
Children join Oakridge Nursery at the beginning of the Autumn Term (in September) following Home Visits from staff. The maximum number of children for the Nursery session is 24. Nursery provision is three hours per day; 8:45am to 11:45am. This provides the 15 funded hours. Wrap around care is also available from Little Oaks, our in–house care provider from 11:45am onwards.
Children who are unable to attend the morning session in the Oakridge School Nursery are able to access Little Oaks after the morning nursery session has finished. This service is available as soon as your child is 3 years of age, but funding would not be available until the first term after their third birthday. For example if your child was 3 in November they could attend Little Oaks as soon as they had turned 3 but payment would be required until the end of that term; funding is then available at the start of the next term in January.
The school also offers the full 30 hours Nursery provision - full details are available during our Open Mornings or by contacting the school office. Further information on eligibility can be found by clicking here.
More information on times and prices are available in the Wrap around Care section of the website.
